The terms for using the BINMAN website and its interactive prototype.

Draft. This document is a working draft prepared before BINMAN’s public launch and is pending review by a qualified advocate in Kenya. It describes how we intend to operate; where something is not yet settled, it says so.

1. About these terms

These terms apply to this website, which is operated for BINMAN, a product of EarthPulse. By using the site you agree to them. The BINMAN app is not yet available; it will have its own terms, which will be published here before launch.

2. Using this website

  • Use the site lawfully and don’t try to disrupt it, gain unauthorised access, or misuse its content.
  • Information on the site describes how BINMAN is designed to work. Arrangements, accepted materials, timings and rates are set locally by hubs and their partners and may differ.
  • Links to other websites, including EarthPulse, are provided for convenience. We are not responsible for their content.

3. The interactive prototype

The app shown on this site is a prototype running on sample data. Names, balances, weights, hubs, partner names and payments in it are illustrative. It does not create accounts, collect personal information, or make or promise any payment. Features shown in the prototype may change before launch, and some may not be offered at all.

4. The app, at launch

When the app launches, using it will be subject to its own terms, including who can open an account, how hubs and partners take part, acceptable use, and how disputes are handled. We will not describe those as settled until they are.

5. Earnings

Nothing on this website is an offer to pay. Where the app pays for eligible contributions, payment will depend on material being weighed and verified, on the rate the hub is working to, and on the terms that apply at the time. BINMAN does not guarantee any level of earnings, and does not charge households a fee to take part.

6. Our content

The BINMAN name, leaf mark, website design, text, scenes and prototype belong to BINMAN and EarthPulse or their licensors. You may share links to the site, but please don’t copy or reuse its content commercially without permission.

7. Liability

We work to keep the site accurate and available, but provide it “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses arising from relying on the site or the prototype. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under Kenyan consumer protection law. For how we handle personal data, see the Privacy Policy.

8. Law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of Kenya. We may update them, and will show the date at the top when we do. For questions, contact the team through EarthPulse (a dedicated BINMAN contact address will be published on this page before launch).
